Dichroic Glass has a beautiful iridescent finish that reflects and transmits light in a variety of colors depending on the angle of viewing. Originally developed by the aerospace industry as interference filters, dichroic is thin layers of vaporized metal oxides that are deposited on the surface of the glass in a high temperature vacuum furnace. The process may be repeated up to 30 times to achieve the desired effect. The range of colors depends on the oxide composition.
